BrainDryvr™ Cascade
The BRAINDRYVR CASCADE™ is a stand-alone unit designed to be used with any EEG feedback system. The unit is a sound operated gate that permits the control of electrically operated devices contingent on any EEG event that the feedback system allows. The BRAINDRYVR CASCADE™ is a dual channel unit with each channel independently adjustable. Because the units are cascadable (multiple units can be controlled by the same EEG event) the therapist can design highly sophisticated multiple contingency feedback protocols. The super-sensitive contingency control, unique to this SOUNDHEALTH product, permits qualitative differences in EEG events to have different contingencies. For example, one can have a light onset as soon as the brainwave band amplitude exceeds threshold and an electric train start running if the amplitude exceeds threshold for a longer period of time. For suppression protocols, one could program light stimulation onset contingent on brief threshold crossings but onset of the OMNI™ harmonic if the amplitude remains above threshold for a longer period of time.
Other features of the BRAINDRYVR CASCADE™ offer the therapist many options for unique protocol design. The sound trigger coming from the EEG feedback system has a direct output which can be used to provide the client with direct EEG feedback when a threshold is satisfied but some other stimulus condition if the threshold is not satisfied or as the trigger for additional cascaded braindriving units. The delay function of the BRAINDRYVR CASCADE™ permits control of stimulus duration so that the therapist can control the time the stimulus remains on after the triggering event.
Three-way switching allows the therapist to turn a stimulus on or off with a triggering event as well as to have the BRAINDRYVR CASCADE™ in standby mode. The EEG feedback triggering sound can be presented to the client with the BRAINDRYVR CASCADE™ in standby mode. “GO” on the selector switch means the stimulus will be presented when the reward sound is present. “STOP” on the selector switch indicates that the stimulus will be presented when the reward sound is off.
